Overview 

Organize and coordinate the soccer program for EARCA in cooperation with Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc (SYSI). 

Responsibilities 

  1. Organize and coordinate registration and develop team lists.  
  2. In conjunction with SYSI, ensure all details regarding times, dates, and locations of all games are established.  Ensure there are sufficient coaches for teams and that the coaches are aware of their duties and training requirements.  
  3. Encourage fun, participation, skill development and good sportsmanship.  
  4. Communicate with SYSI to determine availability of training clinics for coaches and players, and communicate to both groups.  
  5. Distribute equipment to coaches.  
  6. Ensure coaches and parents are aware of where to find their schedule and coach information package on the SYSI website.  
  7. Work in cooperation with your community’s Facility Coordinator and other Sports Coordinators to establish practice times for your teams and game times for your Under-5 teams  (indoor season only).  
  8. With the assistance of the Treasurer, establish the yearly budget for all soccer needs and assist in grant writing if applicable.  
  9. Keep the Communications Coordinator informed of what is happening with soccer by writing articles for publication in the community newsletter and online  
  10. Watch for and encourage new individuals to volunteer for the Community Association.  
  11. Perform an equipment inventory and ask coaches for an “equipment condition” report at the end of the season so you are aware of any additional equipment to buy before the start of each season.  
  12. Assist with the organization of a coaches/volunteer appreciation event (if applicable).  
  13. Submit a brief final report evaluating the soccer program with recommendations for the following season to the EARCA board.
