The Evergreen and Aspen Ridge Community Rink is for the community by the community to ensure ALL families have an opportunity to skate.

Volunteers and/or paid supervision (will receive honorarium) are required for family skate time. Rink grants are dependent on these spots being filled.

The rinks acceptable usage is anytime between 7am and 10pm, and lighting is available between 5pm and 10pm. This is considered joint or shared use with the exception of the following dedicated time slots:

FAMILY SKATING TIME
Family skating is a supervised period of time in which there are no sticks or pucks allowed on the ice.
Thursdays from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Saturdays from 10:00 AM – Noon
Sundays from 10:00 AM – Noon
* Supervision is subject to volunteer availability.

CLEANING AND FLOODING HOURS
Flooding will occur at temperatures below 0 Degrees Celsius and based on volunteer availability. Please respect the asks of volunteers as we may only have small windows of time to flood in.

LIMITED USE DURING SCHOOL DAYS
During regularly scheduled school days we ask that you stop skating during the following times to ensure the safety of the children on recess and lunch hours:

  • 10:25-10:40am and 10:50-11:05am M-F (Stat Holidays Excluded)
  • 11:55-12:45pm M-F (Stat Holidays Excluded)
  • 2:00-2:15pm and 2:25-2:40pm M-F (Stat Holidays Excluded)

RINK RULES
Hockey teams are not allowed to practice as a team without first contacting the Rink Coordinator.
No sticks during family skating times or learn to skate programs
Children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by someone over the age of 15 to ensure their security and wellbeing.
Children and inexperienced skaters should use an approved helmet while on the ice to prevent injuries
Respect the rink skating schedule as posted
Do not use the rink during extremely cold or warm weather
Stay off the ice surface while being resurfaced
No rough play, foul language, harassment, or inappropriate behaviour
No smoking or loitering on the ice or near the facility
No alcohol or drug use
Do not push snow against boards
Unsupervised use of the rink shack is prohibited
Do not touch heater controls
Do not leave door open
Do not drive onto school grounds
Lighting is available from 5pm until 10pm daily, please do not use other variants of lighting beyond 10pm.
