What if my child’s year of birth is 2014 or earlier?

Your child should be enrolled in Youth Soccer though our zone (Hollandia Soccer). See www.hollandiasoccer.ca and www.saskatoonyouthsoccer.ca.

My child is small/inexperienced.  Can they play down a level?

No, unfortunately this is not permitted by Saskatoon Youth Soccer.  Note that SYSI considers U5-U9 to be non-competitive.  Scores are not kept during games.

Can I register for U7/9 Developmental league through EARCA?

Registration for U7/9 Developmental league is through the Hollandia zone.  Please see www.hollandiasoccer.ca and www.saskatoonyouthsoccer.ca for details. Please note youth soccer players cannot belong to more than 1 team during a season. No refunds will be issued for those registering for both leagues.

Will U7 and U9 be co-ed or will there be a boys/girls team only.

This is dependent on the number of players registered. Some players may be transferred to another community team to create teams.

What equipment do players need?

Running shoes and comfortable clothes. Shin guards are recommended for U5-U9. If shin guards are worn, they must be covered in order to prevent injury to other players. Most older players wear soccer cleats.

Team shirts and soccer balls are provided.

Can I coach?

Yes! We are always in need of coaches. Unfortunately, if we do not have enough coaches we will be unable to create teams and many disappointed kids. Your money will be refunded if there is not a coach for your child’s team.

What training do I need to Coach?

See Saskatoon Youth Soccer for coaching requirements. EARCA reimburses coaches for certifications upon submission of a valid receipt. All coaches must have a recent criminal record check.  All requirements must be met prior to the first game.

Any unregistered team personnel (those found on the team bench or on the game sheet) may be fined $100 each).

Do I need to buy a new membership?

You will need a current EARCA membership to participate in any programs. Memberships are valid from July 1st until June 30th. To help facilitate the purchase or renewal of memberships for soccer, we will have instructions on how to include it into your soccer registration.

Can I register late?

If there is room on a team after registration closes, you may be able to register late by contacting the EARCA Soccer Coordinator. Acceptance will be based on space availability. Late registrations are subject to a $40 late fee.

Why are the prices so high this year than previous years for indoor soccer?

Saskatoon Youth Soccer (SYSI) increased fees per team for registration. EARCA has matched registration fees to nearby community associations.

There are several options to help with the increased fees:

  • KidSport funding deadline is the 30th of each month (allow for 30 days prior to season start for approval process). When you apply ensure you list the Community Association or Zone Association (not Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc.) as the organization you are registering with so that your fees are forwarded to the correct association in which you owe your fees to.
  • Jumpstart through Canadian Tire applications can be accepted up until November 1 of each year but you should apply prior to when your fees are due. When you apply ensure you list the Community Association or Zone Association (not Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc.) as the organization you are registering with so that your fees are forwarded to the correct association in which you owe your fees to.

Are spots limited?

For on time registrations there is no limit. If we are unable to find enough coaches to volunteer, some players will not be able to play and will be refunded.

Can I get a refund?

No refunds are issued after registration.

When will I get team information?

Your coach will email you details; if you don’t receive an email by October 11th, 2023, please email the EARCA Soccer Coordinator.

I still have questions- who do I contact?

Please be sure to review the SYSI website for answers to you questions, if you still do not see your answer please contact our EARCA soccer coordinator.
