Registering for Community Basketball

  1. You will need to register for a $15 EARCA Membership through CommuniBee if you do not have one already.
  2. Complete the registration via the SMBA website.
  3. Interested in coaching? Please register on SMBA website and message our basketball coordinator.

All players must register and play in the community they live. If we do not have enough players to form a team in EARCA, you will be placed on a team in the nearest community that has space with effort made to place players within our zone (geographical area including community associations east of Preston and east of 8th Street).

Once registration is complete, names are provided to our EARCA Basketball Coordinator who then makes teams and finds volunteers to coach. Without coaches we will not be able to have teams so please consider volunteering.

The 2024/25 Fall/Winter season for spuds and older age groups runs from mid-October to March (break over Christmas). League games are on Saturdays at various school gyms around the city.

PLEASE NOTE:

Practice days are unfortunately unknown at this time and are subject to change based on gym availability, but every effort will be made to keep the same day of the week once booked. Teams will have at least one practice during the week (some teams may have two).

Dunkeroos runs for one-hour Saturdays at the same time and in the same gym from mid-October to February. Gym and groupings will be posted once confirmed. See the SMBA websites’ Dunkeroos page for detailed information on the program.
